The CA made it from Ohio to Pennsylvania in one peace. Me and a friend were able to put the top back on with out damaging anything. It was actually Easier to get the top back on than I thought it was going to be. Here’s a pic of me and the new addition to the family lol. If I look a little beat and out of it, it’s cause I am. Lol I’ve been up for roughly 30 hrs. I’m a night shift person and ended up pulling an all nighter. But it was well worth it ! Gave it a quick test run and it fired right up and started to get cold. Going let it sit over night and let the heater do its work. :-) tomorrow the real fun begins ! :-)

Total awesome sauce!
I like the smaller cabinet models like this as well. The proportions seem nicer, in my opinion!

Now that I’ve had a chance to see the larger and smaller sized cabinets up front. I like them both, but for me the smaller one is the way to go. I’m tight on space lol. I also got see 2 different Drs and I think 2 CKs. ( sorry brains feeling a little foggy tonight) As well as ball top and a Westinghouse. All around it a was fun trip today. :-). Not to mention it was definitely cool meeting a fellow forum member.

Nice CA-1! I would be curious to know what its performance is like once it all stabilises. The 5cu. ft. cabinet is definitely at lot easier to move around. I get the impression that with the reserve of cooling capacity that CA's seem to have, the CA-1 has a rather stress free life because of the smaller evaporator and cabinet.

Thanks for all the comments. The only thing I have done so far is to replace the cord. I lucked out and the light connector was in really good shape. Just needed to solder a new wire to it. I had a spool of 16 gauge wire here left over from another project and decided that I’d use some of that. Here’s a few pics :-). I’m heading out to search for a suitable door gasket shortly. I can’t remember who recommended it. But I know that I read some where on this site weather king makes a weather strip that works pretty good.

Well it was really nice to meet a forum member and to see him get his first monitor top . Yes it was nice to me you. And I had fun seeing all the other refrigerators you have to. Just wish I wouldn’t have been so tired lol. I tried to get some sleep the night before. But being a night shift person and being excited I couldn’t sleep lol.

Beautiful! Love the way you thoughtfully restored the cord! (Also, glad you took down the "GO AWAY" sign)! Just kidding of course. Be sure to check your hinges for looseness; I am about to start a new thread on rebuilding the hinges on the CA. I would have used the name CA/CKlove if I had known before that I have a CK head unit mounted onto a CA cabinet!

The round wall plug was one that saved off and old lamp. Figured looked pretty good on it. And the sign was a gage gift from one my friends lol. She gave it to me when I started working nights because people kept waking me up during the day.

Your replacement one came out better looking than many of that job that I've seen; just for the sake of mentioning it, I put up a pretty nice ORIGINAL, untorn door gasket from the '34 model that I have, on Ebay. The one with (most of) the 39 rubber push points still attached.Tho mine was super nice, I still want to renew it. John

I got the new gasket on. It doesn’t look to bad. Anything’s better that was left of the original lol. I also gave the inside and the racks a good cleaning. That looks like the gasket material I got for my 1931 Frigidaire. It was from Lowe's hardware store.
