Heh heh. Posting from my phone. Dang auto correct. I should read what I type. I figure it was built between 29 and 32. Was wondering if anyone could help clarify the year. Thanks.

My monitor top refrigerator handle does not work well and the foot pedal helps but the door is very hard to open. Is there a manual for parts so I can repair it

Okay, just found this thread and it got me to thinking about my big fridge that is missing its original compressor. I'll attach a shot of the base which is still with the box. You can clearly see the outline for the original compressor pedestal, but there are also 4 vibration mount studs added. I've always wondered if these were meant as additional support for the monster DR compressor or if it had a later box version added. The old guy whose dad bought the fridge originally told me it had a "huge thing on top like a flying saucer" that had been replaced. I did get a much newer R-12 compressor and evaporator unit with it.
I was up on a ladder when I took this photo and could only get so much into the shot. But it almost looks like shadowing from either a box or plate installed on those mounts, except one mount lies outside the shadow. Plus, the box or square compressors I've seen use springs, not rubber.

You can see where the original control was on the right side, front corner. The float is also on the right side but in the lower corner. On the left side is the shadow where the capacitor transformer block was.
The two holes that are inside the ring in the center are the low side line and the hole for the wiring going to the compressor.

Which makes sense, since the bottom left mount falls outside the footprint of the original compressor judging by the photo below. The D-50 looks to overhang the base plate by half inch to an inch front and back.
So I guess the best explanation might be a random compressor added later that either had a mounting footprint that matched those mounts, or was attached to a plate and the mounts were placed so as not to interfere with the inside unit. These things weren't admired then as now, instead were seen as tools required for a job. Keeping them running in a commercial setting was Priority #1. Probably the original compressor crapped out so they called the local refrigeration guy and said 'fix it!'. In tiny Barre, VT there probably weren't many options available.
I'm going to get more photos of the inside unit which is a newer replacement, the tag, and whatever else when we move it next week. Would love to find the other missing bits and at least get them mounted on the base once it's repainted. For now I'll have to use the remotely-mounted compressor it came with. Maybe I should check its base for holes and see if they line up!
Just couldn't help wondering if it might've had a square compressor conversion at some point after seeing the 4 door with one on ebay.
