Thank you guys! I realized I never actually sent a picture of it fully up and running. View AttachmentView Attachment It runs nice and cold, even though its only set to 4 on the knob! (Im not sure how accurate that little temp gauge is) Excellent! Happy to see it going!

Looks great! How’d you move it? The compressor alone looks like it weighs a ton!

Looks great! How’d you move it? The compressor alone looks like it weighs a ton! When I bought it, the compressor was already off of the cabinet, and was laying on some 5 gallon buckets. It took 3 people and a dolley to get the cabinet into my truck, and the compressor was lifted in. Once at my house, I took off the doors and that made it much easier to move inside. After that, it took 3 people again to lift the compressor on the cabinet. That was probably the hardest part!

I didn't think they made large ones other than the bigger DRs. Makes me wonder if they made a 3-door CK?

I know of a spot where there is a 4 door CK-35 unit combo. They did sell them but they are rare. This one appears to be original but the cabinet is older. Most likely they used the older large DR cabinets that they didn’t sell or maybe made them from older hardware as the orders came in. Of course there are always cases of an older unit developing problems and then being replaced with a later unit. Thoughts Travis?

That’s a 1931 or 32 cabinet with a 1936 unit. It could be a replacement unit or could have been sold that way. GE would not have discarded an unsold older cabinet. It would have eventually sold.

Oh wow, do you guys have pictures of these larger monitor top units? I wonder what they look like compared to the smaller ones.

The unit you have could be used on a 3 dr or residential 4 dr model. The three door was a 17 cu ft cabinet and the four a 18 cu ft.
Aside from that then the commercial line started and there was a DR four and a DR five and I haven’t been able to find a DR five yet but I’m not dead yet.

Oh i see, so different sized cabinets could all have the same compressor on top?

To an extent, yes. The units, as you can tell, are “sized”. So a size 2 unit would get put on certain cabinets. A size 3 would get put on larger cabinets and so on. In some cases where the environment was known to be hot or cold, they might step up or down a size depending on usage factors.
