Ok I'll give it a shot , I know how to run a buffer I would start with a methylene chloride-based paint stripper such as aerosol "aircraft remover" from the auto parts stores. Spray it on a cloth rag and wipe the overspray off. After that, use green Scotch Brite pads to begin the polishing process. Once the surface is consistent, then you can polish it with a buffing wheel on a bench grinder. Something like Meguiar's cleaner-wax will give it a good shine.

I just used some rubbing compound on a rag and clean the majority of the panels. They look great except for two. looks like someone spilled something harsh on the door top and it landed on the bottom inter box sill and etched them pretty bad.I tried color sanding and buffing no luck. It really is pretty amazing material.

Well she has run for 2 hours on low and cycled 1 once control box seems to be working correctly. Have some frost. And she has become very quiet. Wow this is great news! These do tend to get quieter as they run. It's important to allow them to run for several cycles, if possible, each time they are started up. That helps keep things working correctly. It's different when you're troubleshooting etc. and sometimes it's necessary to start and stop a few times. But once it's running well, it needs to run long enough to have the oil circulate back from the evaporator to the compressor.

Great news it's been 24 hours and she is still running, as far as I can everything is good . Hate to turn her off but need to start cleaning up the interior. Oh and I can't believe how quiet.

Glad it's working well! They are quiet; especially when the room temperature is moderate and the oil heater works!

Ok she ran for three days flawless. Time to clean up new door gaskets top gasket and some paint. How long can we go unplugged? I'm assuming you mean how long unplugged, before you would need to wait for the heater to warm back up? I would say; 15 - 20 minutes no problem. Longer than that, equal time plugged in and heating as it was unplugged. The heater gets about as hot as it will get in 5 or 6 hours; so unless it was turned upside down or something else done which could have caused all the refrigerant to go in the dome - 5 or 6 hours after being unplugged for a day or two would be adequate.
As far as unplugged in storage - well, some of these sit for decades without use and still work fine.

I’m glad it’s working for you. I am currently running mine after it had some sticky float issues. I had to exercise it to get it working again. Now it runs buttery smooth. One thing is for sure, they don’t like to sit. But having it sit for a few days shouldn’t hurt anything. Once they start behaving they (usually) stay good.

Long time no talk. I'm looking for the service port tools just in case I ever need to evacuate and or charge my refrigerators. Best place to find this?
