Did some testing and I have come up with some results resistance reading of 6,8,11. Now time find a base plate and do some clean to the controller and if she'll run .

Update compressor runs and seems to cool. When I get heater will run longer and see how it all goes. I'm really excited about new monitortop.

Just a little update wired my new heater in and let run for awhile 4 hours. Started the compressor up and let run for a short time. It was 100% quieter then my initial start up. Will start and run in the next day and see if she will cool.

Will start and run in the next day and see if she will cool. That's good that it's quieter! One thing about the older units; they don't like short cycles. It would be better to wait until you have time to let it run for at least 15 - 20 minutes next time it's started. Short cycles tend to be hard on them.

Well I ran my DR this morning after running the heater for 9.5 hours. As it started this morning she was pretty noisy as she ran got alot quieter, ran for about 30 mins coils started get warm, pretty exciting. Will spend some more time with her this weekend. I'm still looking for a base plate so I can wire up the controller.

I'm still looking for a base plate so I can wire up the controller. It is possible to wire up the control without a base. You can use ring terminals to attach the wiring to the bottom of the control directly.

What a great night, my DR1 cools great. Plugged it in and let her run for 35 mins and got a nice frost 23 degs and the condenser was warm top to bottom. Amazing almost 100yrs old and works. She will go great with my 34 flat top.

Good evening all , I'm looking for info on the interior black plastic on the DR 1 , where can I find it or what is it ? Most of mine has over spray on it from a poor early life paint job.

That's a composite material GE calls Textolite. It's similar to Formica or Micarta. You can use paint stripper on it to remove the overspray.

It's a really good material. You can actually polish and buff it. It's one of the man-made materials which happens to have an almost natural-material beauty to it.
