Does anyone have any knowledge of an GE model FCA-2-F16? There us one available near me. The seller believes it to be from 1947. His grandfather was the original owner and it looks like it just rolled off the production floor. The door jambs are trimmed with light gray textolite. I don't believe it is white. The cabinet is a BH-7-A. It's not a monitor top, but, it's so darn nice that I'm having a hard time passing it up.

THAT IS NICE!. Looks like a pre war flat top to me. IS it SO2 or R-12. It sure needs someone who will appreciate what it is to save it.

R12. If it's a legit flat top, I'm on it. I think it's later, though. Attachments:

That must be the same type box one of my customers has. His parents bought it in 47. I have a thread here on it somewhere but no time to find it right now. The thread has the model of the unit in it. It has about the same compressor as the FEA units. May still be considered a flat top as the coil and lines looks to come out the same way.

Do you know anything about it? Value?

Relay, control or of course wiring could go/be bad also.

No hum at all would make me think that it is not getting any power from the cold control.

does anyone know where i can get a thermostat for a model fca-2-f16 thanks Hi David.
As for the thermostat, have you looked through the Suppliers area? monitortop.freeforums.net/thread/45/suppliers
So is your thermostat simply not powering on the compressor?

I'm happy that a tech would go to the extra effort to search for parts for an antique. Thanks for making the effort! Another resource is Antique Appliances. See antiqueappliances.com/ and if needed contact them. They have been very helpful with my gasket needs.
