My 85 Gemline catalog listed only a universal replacement for the cold control for a GE model BH7-A They used a GC501 - normal off 9, normal on 20, warm on 38, cold off -16 cap tube 78" long. Hope this helps.

I have a 1941 CF model. Here is the thread on it. monitortop.freeforums.net/thread/585/1941-flat-top-projectAnd then I realized that this post is about an FCA and I'm referring to my CF model. The cabinet sure looks like a prewar flat top. Maybe they were using older cabinet types because they hadn't gotten tooled up yet after the war. The top on that model comes off. You could look and see if there is a high side float inside. That is the way the CF models are set up.

I have a FCA-2-F16 that I just acquired. The compressor/motor runs and cools good but the fan doesn’t work. Upon further inspection, all of the wiring is brittle and some is broken. Does anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram for it? I would appreciate any help I could get!

Hopefully someone will be able to chime in.
The wiring should be pretty straightforward, more than likely. How many broken wire cores are there?

I’m assuming that those are wired up the same way that my freezer is. The fan should take its power from the compressor as it should be a little 2 phase motor that uses the power generated in the start winding of the compressor as the second phase to power the fan motor. It’s really a neat little set up. If you look on the fan cord does it have three wires?

It may just need cleaning out and re-oiling.

Thanks, all the wires have broken insulation. I need to rewire the whole fridge. Just not sure which wires go where.

The fan does have 3 wires. Problem is it’s hard to tell which wires go where since there is no colored insulation left.

The fan does have 3 wires. Problem is it’s hard to tell which wires go where since there is no colored insulation left. Your best bet is to have someone with a spare fan motor measure the resistance of the windings. Then you can measure yours, and determine what circuit goes where.

If you strip the outer jacket back further you will find some colored insulation for the wires. There should be red, white, and black to match the colors going to the compressor. The fan would hook up directly to the start relay the same way the compressor does.
