I gave replaced all wiring in my unit with exception of fan motor leads. Is there a way of replacing these leads w/o a total tear up to unit? Ray

Took the motor out. No issues, thank you! Ordered new fan, can't wait to put it in. Any ideas where to get the GE decal that went on FEA square cover. I found one retailer selling them for $50! Seems pretty high. Ray

I've replaced the wiring in these, single phase and 2-phase. You can't get the 2-phase anymore, so it's nice to save them. If you drill 2 small holes in the bearing end of the motor casting 180 degrees apart, in direction parallel to the shaft, and as close to the outside edge of the casting as possible (far enough to the outside to miss the windings is crucial), you can push the stator out a bit at a time alternating between the holes with a small drift punch. See annotated pic for where I drilled holes. I would recommend you get some piece of junk unit bearing motor to try it out on first, until you get where to drill down pat. A bit of silicone will plug the holes when you're done. If it should strike your fancy to do so, you can reverse the rotation by replacing the stator facing the other way..... Attachments:
