Yes the overload from the RO81 would be a great addition to the control. And Turbokinetic is right, stay with a mechanical relay. The PTC material can't recycle instantly and may at times cause the compressor to try too start on just the run winding. It will trip the overload and be off about 5 mins if you use the one from the RO81 and not likely cause harm. But a mechanical relay should avoid that extra overload trip.

As usual, thanks for all the posts on this frig. I have a friend who has been wanting the 1 I have so I'm refurbishing it for him. It is cooling and cycling fine. I opened it up enough to rewire it. So the control was working but the adjustment screw is really rusted in place. This is why I think you always need spare parts around. I picked one up in Wisconsin on my last run from a lady who her and her husband had bought 20 years ago for parts for there daily frig.(which she is still using now). She has decided shes not going to need any parts after 20 years of service so she put it up for sale. It had all the shelves i bought it.So they had removed the control and it was loose in the frig. Haven't taken the parts out to inspect yet, but may get to it tomarrow.all of the posts that are here will make my work easier so thanks again for the posts and pics !
