Wow! That is super cool. Wonder if it was a display model, or a commercial display cooler?

I’m having a conversation with that seller. It’s a DRB3 unit. The seller is not aware when the last time it ran was or if it does now.

I bet if the capacitor is good, it will run.

DR3’s have a habit of dying. I’ve mourned many times. Fortunately, I’ve also gained experience.

They do. I've had my share. I got lucky on a DR-3 with duel evaps. Capacitor was bad. Bypassed it and it runs like a charm.

Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you end up inside having the motor rewound completely reassembling it and repainting the whole damn thing

Tommy,
I finally received pictures. The most concerning is the cap block being open in the picture. That leads to think the unit doesn’t run. I made an offer and was told you were calling tonight. I’m not trying to be cheap, but I am getting tired of paying too much for restoration projects. I have two of those units that work and a third that has bad windings.

Sorry Travis, heck you have three and I have none. Paying to much is a perspective. Sorry if you think its to much. Do you have one with the glass door. If so then your hording. Let some other people get some. How many friges do you have now. I only have 40 and quite a few are parts machines. I am getting better at looking at pics. And seeing things. Yes the block is up on 1 end. Hopefully its bad and tripped the overload. That means the compressor is good. Also with a DR-3 on a small cabinet means it dident have to work as hard, so that's a plus. Iv been testing a DR-3 FOR 6 months on a small cabinet and it only comes on 2 or 3 times a day.i would do some trading with you for a DR-4. interested ?

Tommy,
I have bought what I have by being willing to travel. I’ve paid good money for what I have and have spent considerable more in travel and shipping.
No, I don’t have a glass door model. The seller had only recently sent additional pictures to me. I don’t consider DR3’s to be very healthy and as such, I keep spares.
I saw your trailer load the other month, hoarder!
I’m not criticizing. I have most all that I need and want. I’d rather not sell the DR4 as it’s the only one known to exist. It’s also in pieces at the moment.

Travis, I gave you first shot at this frig. Sorry you dident make a deal. If this is a factory unit and you've never seen one before then its worth taking a chance on. Surely it unique. There were also 7 other people who were watching it. Yes I brought a trailer load home last month. 15 to be exact. I'm playing catch up with you guys. Its a long way from lampasas texas to Wisconsin. Thats my third trip. I'm pretty much done with run of the mill friges but I will jump on something unique. I thought you had more then one DR-4. I wouldent part with it either unless I had no intention of rebuilding it to running condition. I do have a machine shop if it needs that kind of work.. If I did stumble on one I would make a deal on the spot. If you want to chat sometime my phone number is 512-734-1441. Take care.

Tommy,
I have multiple DR1”s, DR2’s, DRB3’s and DR3’s. I have the one DRF4 known to exist and the DR4 on the 27 cu ft cabinet.
I’ve accumulated over the years. I’ve tried to focus on the DR’s as those are the most needy and also the ones harassed to death by new owners. There are also more variations of them due to the rebuilding process.
I’m glad you worked out a deal. The seller took his sweet time sending me pictures. That was part of my delay. I also didn’t have $800 to let go of at the moment on another project. I also don’t want another likely rebuild project. Another member has four units of mine needing rebuilt, not repair.
They’re currently building a garage behind my new home to house my favorite items from my collection that won’t integrate into the house: four door Frigidaire with belt drive unit, the four door residential cabinet with a DR35 unit, DRF4 and DR4 on 27 cu ft cabinet and double unit CK model.
I’m also working on organizing another building I own in town for the rest.
Enjoy your DRB3 on the rare glass door cabinet. I hope it doesn’t shit the bed like my first three DR3 units did. I’m very content knowing that I found the small S32 model.
