OK - I have a CG-1-A16 Globe Top with a bad power cord. I am comfortable with mechanical & electrical but not so much with fridge. I would really appreciate some advice/directions on simply removing the top, replacing the power cord, and putting back together. Thanks for any suggestions or advice!

Ball tops are a bit of a pain to rewire. Take a look at the posts in this section and you'll find the info you need.

Thanks for the link and info. When I lift the top off, can I simply lay it on it's side? If so, which side or does it matter? After reassembly do I have to wait a number of hours (or days) before plugging it in? Thanks again.

You can lay it on any side. Just be sure to not put any weight on the lines or the evaporator. Also be very careful when putting the top back on to make sure and not crush a line. You shouldn't have to wait at all to plug it in and turn it on.
