I buy an Globe top (CG-1-A16) and i will restore it.
This machine work, i'm not sure she work fine because not tested on 24 hours, but she works.
I will replace the electric wire (Power Cord) because my cord is not in good condition. and i want to wash the fridge interior and may be repaint it.
Is it easily to extract the top for the body of the fridge ?
Should we just shoot it so that the two parts dissociate?
Or are there tricks to separate the two parts?
Thanks in advance for your returns.

The top will simply lift off. Gravity is the only force holding it on. Be very careful to not damage the lines underneath when you remove and replace the top.

What has me curious about these is what the official method of lifting the top off is. There's no hooking points for the GE crane, and the globe shaped top is awkward to attach anything to. I can only think of something being put around its neck, which then hooks onto the crane. Surely it's not light enough just for someone to lift it on and off by themselves - or is it?

John,
Most able bodied men can pick up a ball top unit.

Yes, I can confirm. They aren't that bad. It's more awkward than anything.

I have lifted the top off of my CG without mechanical means or help too many times, try to avoid it now. I just choke it's neck with a rope when I want to hook it to a lift.
