Ok guys looking at and been in contact with owner what do you think ? They say it ran a few years ago it tries to start but does not ? Any info is greatly appreciated trying to decide if it's worth the 31/2 hour trip .

That is one nice clean looking 1940 Flat top. Hopefully it just needs a R081 but ya never know till ya cheek could be worse.

Yeah, I agree with gill. It sounds like the start relay finally gave up the ghost. That could be an easy fix although you would have to RE wire everything in the process. However, it might indicate that the owner let the machine cycle on the overload for some time which would put stress on the windings of the motor. It would be a gamble but at $75 it isn't too big a gamble. Best case, it would just need the normal relay, wiring, and gasket. It does look nice.

It's likely just the relay. I personally wouldn't drive that far to get one, unless you're bored.

I sort of have to agree with Travis. That's a big price and a long drive for a refrigerator that is known to not be functional. Even if it is just a rewire and a R081, then you have a nice looking, functional, VERY INCOMPLETE, antique refrigerator. Not to be rude, but I'd pass.

Thanks for your input bet he would come down to 50$ but I think I we'll hold off on it ! Thought it looked pretty clean through !

I'd hit the road for $40. Just be sure to bring help if nobody if available at the location. I can't imagine moving mine alone.
