Most of these older boxes have the wiring entering the cabinet through the back cover the evaporator goes through. Not these old Leonard's and Kelvinator's they have it entering in the bottom under the liner. Looks like that means there are splices in the bottom of the cabinet, don't need that if water ever gets there. I was planning to pull the liner to rewire but now realize that if I bring the wiring in the back cover I may be able to avoid it. I still ended up pulling the refrigeration system. These breaker strips go straight sideways to come out. For some reason they used paper fillers to make the breaker strips fit tight. Other than gluing or taping them in place the only way I can see keeping the in place to put the strips back is if the cabinet is laying on its back. Part of the reason the sealed system was removed, also to gain access to relay and wiring. Back evaporator access cover. Wow they really wanted the moisture to get out of the insulation and turn to frost on the evap. lots of holes in the cover behind the evap.

Very good work as always. I love the way that compressor looks. So funky! Hopefully it will be nice and reliable after all this.
