Any my ideas on what model this is. It is definitely a Canadian model and probably has shelves in the door. Cabinet very similar to my AK1 but I have no idea what the cooling unit is.

If I'm not mistaken that is one of the GE "flat tops" that was non hermetic. I believe they had a belt drive rotary compressor that used SO2. They were the cheap model. I wonder if it still has its guts?

I don't know what refrigerating machine is on it but it looks way to short to have a belt drive unit in there. Although I can't say I am familiar with the unit ckfan is referring to.

Here is what I was talking about. If you look in the bottom right corner of this CA ad you will see the cheaply priced GE of the time. I think it is the same fridge. The only thing that looks different is the top and the legs but that could be because it is a Canadian model. It's definitely from the early CA era as it looks like the same control cover plate as the CA form A.

The one I posted has a much deeper space for the compressor unit.

All the space behind the control appears to be the engine room. The inside tub is just a bit higher than the door, I think

Those legs look similar to GE's Canadian AK series, no?

Strange looking cover on top, wish we had more pics.

Well, Next I'm waiting to find out it has a scotch yoke compressor that runs methyl formate.
