This is what C.G.E gave consumers in Canada. It is based on the U.S. 1935 CK model, but has cabinet differences, and also uses a different evaporator. It would appear the fridges were therefore being manufactured there, and were not merely U.S. imports as Australia received. Attachments:

It sure has, so I'm not sure about Crosley's "Shelvador" claim to being the first is entirely correct...unless the claim was for the U.S. only.

I should also include the cutaway diagram for this model. As can be seen, it uses the same Scotch Yoke, or "Thrift Unit", to use its advertised name, compressor as the CK, but the evaporator is something else. It looks to be based on the methyl formate evaporator (patent no. 2043917) with the SO2 modification (figure 4 in the patent), but the high side injection is quite different.
