I believe Grigg told cablehack about it, who then told me about it. I am currently working on scanning it and of course will make it available to all.

There's a bit of a story behind this manual. For a long time I had assumed there was no official CA manual, apart from the training film stills which we have all seen. Given the prevalence of these machines, one would think a manual would have been easier to get, but I had given up on it. However, there was a tiny reference to the "CA machine service manual" hidden away in the 1934-42 Scotch Yoke manual. Once I'd seen that I knew searching for such a thing wouldn't be in vain. As it turned out, Grigg had been doing some searching and stumbled upon something that looked suspiciously like what we were after. Despite the words "methyl formate" and "CA" in the ad, the internet searches I used never found it. I contacted the guy running the site selling the manuals and never heard back. I quickly worked out it was probably because I was in Australia and he didn't want to know. So, I mentioned it to Chris who did the ordering...but then there was a further delay making us wonder if it was too good to be true. But it looks like the persistance was worth it, and the greatest of thanks are due to Grigg for finding it! Thanks to Don, we now have earlier editions of the CA service manuals, which are included in the 1934 Product Manual. www.cool386.com/ge_service/1934Productmanual.pdfNote the reluctance to recommend purging! This was reversed in the later manual which explains the procedure.

They must have been inundated with machines coming back to the factory, and were forced to work out a way to do it in the owner's home.
