Good morning! I’m a first time poster, although I have extensively researched this valuable forum, and bothered my friend David in Alabama. i picked up who I have named “Old Rusty”. It has a serial number of 8701285, but no data plate. I’m guessing it is a later unit since it has an evaporator door and an LP service port. The cabinet, much to my surprise has no light provisions. The data plate on it is S-42-S. Is this an early cabinet with no light? Attachments:

That cabinet would be for a DR1 unit. Probably between 1930-1932. They did not have cabinet lights in them. The cooling unit is a later CK1 from around 1937. Presumably the original DR1 failed at some point and was replaced by that CK1.

I don't think they even had lights until the second version of the CA came out. Now the 2- and 3-door Bohn cabinets may have come with lights in some versions.
