I have an old model GE refrigerator. it looks similar to pictures I have seen but mine has a square unit on top instead of a round one. i am try to find out what year it may be.

Hi there, and welcome to the forum! What you are describing is some variation of the Monitor Top cabinet (could be from 1927 to 1937) which has an FEA cooling machine installed. The FEA was introduced in 1944 and produced through 1947. It is GE's first all-new design after World War II ended; and was intended to be a replacement cooling machine for failed DR, CA, and CK cooling machines. If you can share pictures, we can likely help narrow down the year of the cabinet. Sincerely, David

What David said is true,but what I’m interested in do you still have the original top ? we have been able to bring them back to working order .
