I have a ck serial # 631623 that runs great. I have replaced the seal on the door about 6 months ago. I have 2 questions. After I defrost it, it works great as far as temperature is concerned, but after a few days the freezer compartment starts dripping water. the second question is where does the temperature probe attach to the freezer box. I've had this fridge in my man cave for 29 years & it has been a great fridge.

The temperature sensing capillary (called a "bellows tube" in the manual) attaches to the evaporator at the front left side under a clamp held with two bolts and nuts. There's a few pics around the forum which show it; for example monitortop.freeforums.net/attachment/download/6255It's important the end of the capillary makes good thermal contact with the evaporator, otherwise the thermostat will sense the cabinet air temperature, rather than the evaporator. Not too sure about the water dripping problem, except that the evaporator would be getting above freezing point when that happens. My first thought would be an excessively long 'off' time - which is how the defrost function is meant to work. So, I'm not sure how it could maintain normal cabinet temperature, at the same time as the evaporator being warm enough for the frost to melt.

I've had this fridge in my man cave for 29 years & it has been a great fridge. Hi there! Glad your CK has been a good addition to your home. As for the water dripping, it is likely one of two things. Either, the thermostat control is getting out of calibration; or the gaskets between the top of the cabinet and the underside of the cooling system are allowing an excess of moisture into the cabinet. If the water seems to be coming from the very top of the evaporator, near where it attaches to the bottom of the cooling unit, it may be air ingress around the top. You may be able to temporarily put tape around the exterior seam between the top and cabinet and see if that reduces the dripping. If so, then you may be looking at a top gasket job. If the evaporator its self is partially defrosting, it may be that the control is in need of cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment. It shouldn't allow the evaporator to partially defrost between cycles. If this is happening, it may be that the control is not cycling on again before the temperature is too high and defrosting has occurred. Sincerely, David

Well the night I wrote my question on this board I happened to watch a long video on you tube that for a few seconds showed where the capillary tube goes. I moved it to that location under the clamp & turned the temperature down a little colder & it's working fine now. My monitor top has a single temp control & it is missing the for lack of a better word the instruction/ high low writing. Does anybody make a repop of this panel ? Thanks for the help on figuring out the problem.

Well the night I wrote my question on this board I happened to watch a long video on you tube that for a few seconds showed where the capillary tube goes. I moved it to that location under the clamp & turned the temperature down a little colder & it's working fine now. My monitor top has a single temp control & it is missing the for lack of a better word the instruction/ high low writing. Does anybody make a repop of this panel ? Thanks for the help on figuring out the problem. Hey, if you have any sort of non-typical temperature control, there is a chance it is an aftermarket thermostat. The Monitor Top control has safety device inside it to protect the compressor from damage if there is an overload or other problem with the compressor. PLEASE share pictures of the control you have, as well as the start relay. It is a very serious safety concern if incorrect modifications have been done.
