I have a two-door Dr series first generation GE monitor top fridge. I have not plugged it in probably 20 years. I am looking to sell it but would like to test it first. Is it okay to plug it in and is it okay to use an extension cord to do so?

Is it okay to plug it in and is it okay to use an extension cord to do so? Hi Kathleen. I would not plug it in after sitting 20 years. It needs to have the integrity of the crankcase heater checked, and be warmed by the heater before startup. It could do more damage to try powering it on cold than to have someone who is well-versed in these to check it out. Sincerely, David
