Hello, Cleaning out the garage and 'found' this. Does anyone know what year this fridge is? also what it could possibly be worth today?

Hello, Cleaning out the garage and 'found' this. Does anyone know what year this fridge is? also what it could possibly be worth today? Hi Amy. Welcome to the forum! That is a very nice Frigidaire. It looks to be a very late 30's to early 40's model based on the nameplate and the design. Values of these vary widely with location and condition and whether or not it runs and cools. I'm from the rural midsouth, where values are medium on things like this. Your fridge has apparently been rewired with orange extension cord cable, which is probably not the most ideal type of wire for it. It's concerning to me that whoever made this questionable choice could have made other questionable choices on the rewiring. If I could see it in-person it may be fine. Assuming the rewiring job is done correctly, and it runs and cools properly - you might be able to get around $300 for it. If you're near a more affluent area or have a showroom to display it in, you may get quite a bit more for it. It is in very clean condition however it does not appear to be a porcelain model. Also, the door gasket is failing. The door gasket on that particular model is a difficult job. Sincerely, David

Wow! Thank you David! Great Information! I have no idea who worked the rewiring, maybe even acquired that way. I have not tried turning it on and would rather leave it to someone who would love to 'make it new again' I am more than willing to part with it / sell it. If you know anyone in the Chicago Area, send 'em my way! Happy 4th of JULY!!!

I shared a link to this thread on the vintage fridge collectors' group on Facebook as well. May get some interest from there. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1223144641055129
