Greetings, All.
I have tried looking for a list somewhere that has serial numbers vs years for monitor tops. I can only find a broad range of years, but nothing specific. A vid said the leading 5 may mean 1935, but they weren't confident.
My CK has a unit #5437693, Box #5359596. Just got the old door seal out, and replaced. Everything is sure scrubbing up nice so far.

Ok. Took me a bit, as I had to fire up the desktop and wait for Windows to update. I apologize. The first one is when I got it. The rest are as i am going through. I have the shelves, they are just in the wash. Very nasty--cat hair and so on. Yes, that is an Ironrite Mangel in the background. It works great, too after repairs. -Chris I

That's a nice example, and you're lucky that it still has the evaporator door. I'm very glad that you had strapped the cooling unit on the cabinet during transportation! That is something which can be disastrous if someone isn't aware!

While not definitive proof, it certainly lends credence to the first number in the serial indicates the year theory.

The service manual goes into detail on which model indicates which year of manufacture. Since this is a C16, that would indicate 1936. Also, it’s very odd that the tag lists a size 2 machine, CK-2, but the evaporator is definitely from a size 1 machine. Very odd.

I think the CK-2 nameplate is from another user and not the original poster.

Nice Monitor Top! I like the freezer door too! Model M-5 is a 1936 model.
