Always loved the look of these and finally found one local and operational. It's missing the door seal, and the bakelite power switch is broken at the stem, you can no it select power on/off, but it's broken in the in position so, no biggie. Once I figure out which gasket to order, this will be my beer fridge (no not kegerator, I couldn't dare drill holes in it).

The cooling units were very well refined by this point and extremely reliable. The power switch is part of the thermostat control and is not something which can be replaced other than by locating every last piece of the broken knob and repairing it; or by locating another control for parts. Often the temperature control aspect of the control isn't going to work correctly with that broken, due to how the control is designed internally. Sometimes controls show up for sale here and there, so just keep looking! Also, the control included a circuit breaker for the compressor motor overload. Whatever you do; never replace this control with a "plain" thermostat-only control. If you do that, you may lose all safety protection for the compressor. For the door gasket, I have had great luck with self-adhesive "double-D" profile from Lowe's. Others have had good success with gaskets from McMaster-Carr. There are several threads on here covering that. I know you'll love having such a conversation piece in your home! What part of the country are you in? Most of us are scattered to the four winds, so to speak. I am in Alabama. Sincerely, David

Durham NC here. I see on my Facebook post somebody recommended a specific bonding agent or glue if I can find all the pieces to the little knob but that I would have to take the whole control apart to do so. As for the door seal, I was looking at the seal available on antique appliances. It appears it needs to be a fairly thick seal as it's quite the large gap between the door and the fridge body itself. I appreciate your advice.

As for the adhesive backed weather stripping, it actually works much better than what antique appliances sells because theirs is a very hard plastic and does not conform very easily. I'm using my phone at the moment and I'm not sure that I can upload pictures from it. If so, I will make a second reply with a picture of the MD door gasket from Lowe's.
