I am still working on it, one piece at a time.
That Textolite looks like it's had a very hard life!

That Textolite looks like it's had a very hard life! That bottom piece of Textolite was indeed in bad shape. The hole in the middle was there, the other damage was incurred by me in attempt to extract a few broken aluminum screws. That did not work, so it looks like it will be 10-32 stainless truss heads for replacement. The other three pieces of Textolite are good.
I made the replacement from black linen Micarta (that is the Westinghouse name for General Electric Textolite).

It's good you have the skills to make a replacement breaker strip, and were able to get the Micarta to use. One trick I have learned is to put a less-than-perfect / repaired / replacement breaker strip at the top of the cabinet, because nobody sees that one except when squatting down. It won't be part of the first impression view as the door is opened, so to speak.

The light wires are in remarkably good condition, so I will not be doing anything to them.
I cleaned, primed and painted the bottom of the cabinet, did the same with the legs, and made new leg gaskets. The legs were installed and I stood the cabinet back up and it is ready for me to complete the paint job.

I painted the cabinet a few days ago, but the paint coat was a little thin with orange peel here and there, and dry dusty paint here and there. Today, I scuffed the paint with 220 grit, wiped it down, and re-sprayed. It looks much better, sans the obligatory bug and tree dander.
Sunday the door will get cleaned and painted. Photos coming as soon as the paint dries enough to unmask, probably tomorrow afternoon.

Here are the cabinet paint pictures. I also did the door, but due to pollen, bugs, and wind issues, it too, will get a re-do.

I got the door paint job finished over the past few days
I also ultrasonic cleaned the start relay and the thermostat. The thermostat was giving trouble, so I took it apart to repair it. When I discovered that the on - off - overload reset knob had no screw in it, I assumed the knob pulled off. This was a very bad assumption and I broke a lot of bakelite. Fortunately I was able to recover from this disaster and make good repairs. It took some fiddling, but the thermostat/overload functions as it should. Here are the relay and thermostat with a bit of clear enamel on them.

Your paint job looks great! I'm sorry you had to learn the thermostat service procedures the hard way, though! At least you were able to recover from that.
