Hi. I saved what I think is a DR model from the scrap yard. I’d like to cosmetically restore it before I tackle trying to make it run again. The one part that I need is the latch that bolts to the cabinet. Not the handle but the part that the handle goes into. I actually found the screws online which are hard to come by. They are 1/4 by 24 fillister head. They were used on an antique cars from the 20s. I also just purchased a Bristol key and need to know which way to turn the valve. I don’t want to force it. Thanks!

Hi, so glad you found a machine and are saving it! Can you share pictures? Latches and handles can be very hard to come by but pictures are a good first step towards getting people interested in helping. As for the Bristol key, the service valve has a conventional thread, where as you face the port, the plug turns counterclockwise to unscrew, just like a normal bolt. Just to be sure; no need to try to open that port unless there are problems with the unit and you have determined that a pressure check is in order. Sincerely, David
