I am trying to track down information on a GE relay that was made for or at least used on a Norge refrigerator. The part number is: CR1057-R1G-22
Does anyone have reference material or know the electrical specifications on it? I know there are a few versions of the R relay and my hunt through the parts and service manuals have not turned up anything.
Thanks all!

It's very hard to know, from that part number. If you can post detailed pictures of the relay, with the cover removed, we may be able to tell you more. Also, knowing the compressor horsepower will be helpful in determining a good replacement.

For the most part, these are rated by compressor horsepower; to ensure the magnetic current relay actuates at the correct current level; and also that the overload breaker is set to protect the motor. If the relay is marked with a HP rating or an overload amps rating; you can determine if it will be suitable for the compressor you have. Might have to buy the relay and then inspect it.

That will be helpful. These relays are marked for the HP and overload amps, so the pictures should tell you all you need to know. What is the compressor HP?

Ok, after lots of digging and reading through the various manuals. I have sort of answered my own question and wanted to share my findings. This is by no means a complete list, but for those who aren't sure which part numbers are helpful here is a sort of key I made. This brings the GE part numbers used and their replacements up through the mid 1970's, from that point I have found several relay/control manufacturers whom have data cross referencing the newer numbers.
Original catalog number: M1A62, M1A162, M1A168 Type: CR1057-R38A-G1, CR1057-R1-G5, CR1057-R1A-G1, CR1057-R43A-G1, CR1057-R48-G1, CR1057-M220Y2 Motor HP: 1/8 Overload: 3.2amp Replacement GE part: WR7X2, WR7X6, WR7X10, WR7X13, WR7X128, WR49X195 Used on CA and CK's (except the CK30 and CK35 variations)
Original catalog number: M1A64, M1A166 Type: CR1057-R38A-G2 Motor HP: 1/6 Overload: 4.3amp Replacement GE part: WR7X5 Replacement for CK30 and CK35 variations.
It goes without saying, but this is only useful for someone who is wanting to keep their machine as original as possible and use/find an original relay or a period correct/vintage replacement.
I just wanted to list all the part numbers together so if someone tried to search by using any of the numbers, this would come up and show everything in one place.

Good info, thanks for sharing it with us! The CK-1x CK-2x and all CA machines are 1/8 HP machines. The CK30 and CK35 are the 1/6 HP machines.

Thanks David, I edited my original post with that info. I'm just hoping when someone tries to google part numbers this may save them a bit of a headache.
