I have a CK-30 and it has a rectangular wire basket that was with the fridge when I purchased it. I have noticed in a few pictures of various models that some have this wire basket and some are shown with a porcelain container sitting in it.
Was this wire basket a purchase option or standard with monitor tops at some point? Did it have a specific purpose (egg basket)? Seems redundant to have a porcelain container sitting inside a wire basket.
I'm just curious as to if it had a specific function or not. I know my model has the option of the porcelain drawers and such. Perhaps someone with parts catalogs or sales brochures would know?
Thanks

As far as I know, the 1933 Porcelain cabinet CA was the first to come with the wire basket and the porcelain enameled container. The metal container was sold as a crisper for vegetables etc. The wire basket apples etc. Attachments:

Perfect! My basket is identical to the one on the bottom shelf in your second picture. I figured it was used for something like that. I will have to keep an eye out for the vegetable crisper.
Thanks

Thanks Interestingly, I just picked up my first CA and it has everything in this picture; the wire basket, glass tray, vegetable crisper and even the crisper lid. I didn’t realize it was rare, but it makes sense since many don’t even have the wire shelves. I haven’t even started cleaning up the interior, but let you need any dimensions or close up shots.
