A number of you know already that I was going after this weird double unit model. I first saw a listing of one of these on Ebay. That might have been the same fridge that Rex, another member here has. I had heard of another some time ago. A man mentioned moving one out of a frat house and destroying it. This one that I got was in Texas. A couple other collectors backed off and let me get it. The fridge is basically two 7 cu ft porcelain cabinets fastened together with a spacer. My example has 1934 hardware and 1936 CK2-C16 units. I do have the legs, but the foot pedals are missing. I'm also missing some shelves, so I will be hunting for a bad off CA2-B16 for parts. I have no idea if the units run. I'm not worried about fixing them or finding another unit. I have asked another long-time collector if he knows anything about this model, sadly nothing. The rumor was this was made for Jewish families. I have no idea if that's true or not.

Travis, that is an amazing find! As for the Jewish connection; I remember hearing this design was to allow compliance with a religious rule that certain types of food / drink could not be stored together or eaten together or used with common utensils.

That’s the first I ever heard of one , didn’t know they existed. This was made by GE correct ? As far as the foot petals if you had a working one to copy I bet Timesweld could make it for you.
