Hello, I just recently replaced the door gasket on my CA and for what its worth I ordered the two gaskets recommend in the suppliers section and I have to say they are nothing close to the original and much smaller. "Door gaskets and other hardware. - Mcmaster Carr For door gasket order part number 1129A995 in black. A 10 foot length should be enough to do a single door but please measure to be sure as there are many door variations. This is not an original style gasket but works very well and does not require glue. Another good door gasket is part number 93085K14" Ironically I had already ordered a gasket for one of my chest soda machines from Soda Jerk Works and this gasket is perfect! It was part number RP12 Conversion Gasket - See pics. I you want an almost replica of the original door gasket at least for a 1933 CA-2-A16 then you will be very happy. In addition Turbo recommended using a cabinet gasket available at Lowes off the shelf and it works great! It is an expanding black gasket called Expand and seal 1/4" to 1" and was $15.98 - See pics. I would also recommend as others have to remove the old gooey tape at the top of the cabinet and use the large wide roll of Gorilla tape to re-do and seal the top of the cabinet covering the insulation blocks - see pics Hoping this new info can make it into the Supplier section...

You need to be careful with the inner top gasket. It tends to trap moisture and do more harm than good and was done away with by GE later on as were all of the wax gaskets under the breaker strips. They realized the evaporator acts as a dehumidifier and pulls moisture out of the insulation.
I had one in my 1933 cabinet for a few months and had small puddles of water laying on top of the duct tape because it wasn't tight all the way around. I removed it and it's been dry for 6 years now.
The foam gasket around the outer edge of the top is very important.
As far as door gaskets I haven't found anything I really like. The ones we have listed do not claim to be like the original but they work.

Thanks for the heads up Chris, I only replaced the cabinet top gasket and not the gasket under the removable top as it was in great shape. Thanks for the heads up. The door gasket I got seems to be very good quality and sized correct. I agree the ones recommended in the supplier section are not a good match...

The second McMaster Carr part number mentioned above is what I’ve used and appears similar to the new door gasket you’re using.

I assume your cabinet has holes for the door gasket like my 1933? My 1934 cabinet the gasket slips under the black breaker strips, and the same on the 1935 Balltop I'm working on but the gasket is smaller. Please forgive my terrible handwriting. Attachments:

Hi Chris, yes you are correct mine is a 1933 and it has the bulb style gasket with the holes for the prongs. I had to take all those out and the new gasket just fits over them all but looks and seems to function perfectly. I also have a 1934 CK and that gasket is as you described under the breaker strips.

I’ve had the McMaster car gasket on my ck for approximately 5 years and it works well . Is it original no , does it work yes . If you want original or reasonable reproduction it’s out there but you we’ll pay the price! Anyone I’ve shone my ck , the last thing they noticed is the door gasket .

I had one of the reproduction gaskets on my CA and pulled it off. It seemed too stiff and not thick enough.
