Hi folks. Last week, I received a CK26 cooling unit which stopped cooling last year. The cooling unit had been purchased from a well known restoration shop in the past. It was taken back to the same shop after it stopped cooling. They kept it for 6 months and returned it with a "death certificate" and a statement that it's "unrepairable because it's a sealed unit."
This was a beautifully restored machine; worth repairs, which was cast off and treated as if it were scrap iron.
There are two videos about it.
Part 1: https://youtu.be/2RFuSFzDCak
Part 2: https://youtu.be/GDFeNqSlpFY
Hope you enjoy seeing this one get checked out and the previous "restorastion" get exposed for what it was. Sincerely, David

Great work as always David. Very happy to see that one brought back to life after it was deemed dead. It just makes me mad at what some of these “restoration” shops pass off as good work. How would they think that nobody would notice that damage?

How would they think that nobody would notice that damage? Thanks Ray. In this case, the restoration shop was expecting the owner to allow them to locate another cooling unit, restore it, and sell it to him for a couple thousand dollars. They expected not to have to return it to the owner.

Amazing work !Thanks for sharing. They must have beat on that float bowl with a 2#hammer to do that kind of damage.

What a shame the owner and the fridge got beat up! Very glad they found their way to you! Great videos, as always! The fridge has a long life ahead of it now, I'm sure! Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks, and it was a shame indeed. I just want to get the word out that these ARE fixable, and a hammer is not the first go-to tool to use.
