Hello folks ... I transcribed the text of the label on the inside of the door of my 1935 CK-2-B16. Here you have it
Quick Freezing Hints
1. For quick freezing of ice cubes and desserts, the trays should be in tight contact with the surface of the cooling unit. To assure good contact wet the bottom of the trays before placing them in the cooling unit.
2. For fastest freezing turn the temperature control knob to position “9”. After freezing is completed, turn the control knob to its normal position.
3. The ice trays will freeze to the cooling unit. They can be readily loosened by using the tray lifter provided with the refrigerator.
4. To remove ice cubes from metal trays, run water over the bottom of the tray until the cubes are loosened.
5. It takes longer to freeze ice cubes in rubber trays than in metal ones.
6. For best results in making desserts, follow directions given with recipes in the “New Art” book published by the General Electric Kitchen Institute.
Food Storage Suggestions
1. Overcrowding the shelves in the refrigerator stops air circulation which is necessary for uniform cooling.
2. Keep all foods with decided odors, foods which absorb odors and all moist foods in covered containers.
3. Remove paper wrappings from foods before placing them in the refrigerator.
To Adjust the Temperature
To lower the cabinet air temperature, turn the temperature control knob clockwise toward “9”. To raise the cabinet air temperature, turn the control knob counter clockwise toward “1”.
Defrosting the Cooling Unit
The cooling unit should be defrosted at least once a month or as often as one-quarter inch of frost accumulates.
1. To defrost turn the starting switch to the position marked “defrost”.
2. Remove ice cube trays from the cooling unit and food from the chiller tray. Be sure the chiller tray is in position under the cooling unit.
3. Keep the cabinet door closed. Foods will remain properly refrigerated.
4. After defrosting, empty the chiller tray, and clean the cooling unit and interior of the refrigerator. Replace ice tray and chiller tray and turn the starting switch to the “ON” position.
Cleaning the Refrigerator
1. Wash outside with warm water and a mild soap such as Ivory. Abrasive or alkaline cleaning agents should never be used.
2. Polish the exterior with G.E. cabinet cleaner obtained from G.E. dealer.
3. Clean the interior of the refrigerator and the cooling unit with warm water and baking soda. Never use a cleaning solution which has an objectionable odor. Do not place the cold chiller tray in hot water
To Protect the Refrigerator While Not in Use
If the refrigerator is to be out of use for several days or longer:
1. Remove all foods from the cabinet and water from the trays.
2. Carefully clean the interior of the refrigerator and leave the cabinet door slightly open to allow air circulation.
3. Turn the control knob to “OFF”.
To Resume the Use of the Refrigerator
1. Clean the interior of the refrigerator. 2. Turn the starting switch to “ON”.
Motor Protective Device
1. The motor is protected against overload or abnormal power conditions by a device that automatically shuts the unit “off” if such conditions occur.
2. Operation of the device is indicated by an unusually long idle period, or defrosting of the cooling unit.
3. To start the refrigerator again, turn the STARTING SWITCH to “OFF” and then back to “ON”. If the protective device trips the unit “off” again in a short time, repeat this procedure.
4. Do not turn the starting switch “OFF” and “ON” again repeatedly to start the refrigerator.
