I inherited a CK from my Dad when he passed away. I defrosted the unit for him just prior to his death and it sat for a few years before I moved it to my house. I did not plug it back in after defrosting because of a frayed power cord. I have had a local appliance guy check it but he hasn't had any luck. Is there anyone in the Southeast US that can repair this unit? It runs but doesn't cool and has no major rust, dings, etc. Was working perfectly when defrosted.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad's passing away. There are several of us scattered around the country who sometimes take on repairs for others. It's very critical that whoever works on it is familiar with these machines as they are nothing like current models. Mistakes can destroy them, especially when it comes to wiring issues. PM sent, as well. Sincerely, David

Hello and welcome to the forum. Don’t know if you have been here before, but a good place to start is looking through the ck section. It’s going to need a rewire at least . The cks are the most reliable because they were the last of the monitor tops . Look through the ck section for your specific problem it may be listed there .
