Hello Guys
Have finally received the Prototype sample of an Original GE Door Gasket.
This sample retains the Original Barbed Nipples , which merely push into the factory 3 1/4" spaced door Frame openings.
At Last, a Gasket that will stay in place, without the use of Magnets or Adhesives.
The profile gasket has been supplied in an Opaque / White Silicone Rubber based material.
Once Tested for Fit And Reaction to Cold temps , it will be approved for Fabrication.
At that time, the Gasket Color shall be chosen.
I will test fit these samples onto my unit this weekend.
Please Respond, as to what members in this Forum would be best suited to Examine this gasket & render their opinion.
I look forward to your replies,
Thanks
Erik

I wouldn't mind giving an opinion on it. I do not recall, are these to have precut welded corners or will that need to be done during the installation? I'm not sure who else would be interested and do not want to volunteer anyone.

These were done as 4 separate pieces. The corners don’t seem to have been connected.

Chris / Travis
The samples received are Exact length to fit the Tall side of one of our 4 doors.
They have Molded corners, as per the Original sample submitted.
Future production gaskets would most likely have (1) 45 Degree molded corner on each end, requiring Only four cuts, instead of Eight.
If the Forum is able to furnish the Most popular cabinet & Door sizes, it would be possible to produce Gaskets having all 8 , custom Molded corners.
Thanks
