It was and still is a junker machine that I did alot of experementing on. It did have a restricted seat and did work well again when I cleaned it. Inside the float chamber it had a black dicoloration of the metal but no actual debris. All the debris had collected within the orafice. None on needle at all. It worked fine for a year then I decided to convert to a cap tube and R134. It's still working but it's just a guinea pig unit. Im sure it would still be working fine just like the other units that I have cleaned the orafice on. It's also the guenea pig unit that I cut open and rewound. Because the clogged orafice was likely the cause of the winding failure.

I'm not sure about brazing the float back together with the 45%. I don't see why not. I just have never tried it.
