Picked up a CK1-B16 yesterday sn 4437087. Plugged it in and it works. I plan to do a complete rewire and have read that thread through once giving me a start. Can I work on the compressor terminals with it upside down on sawhorses? Secondly, in transit, the control switch knob (on/off/defrost) was broken, the bezel for it had one of the press in studs broken off the face and the cover plate behind the control (bakelite) is in 2 pieces. Hoping I can repair that.
I'd post pictures but I am not seeing how. I am a moderator on another forum but that's XenForo and I also know VBulletin but this one stumps me

Hey, it's easy to do pictures. Look up in the right corner of your Creat Post window. There should be Add Attachment option. Open that and it's pretty self-explanatory.

It gets involved since the forum software won't automatically resize images. That means I have to transfer from phone to desktop and run them through a program to het them down to suitable size. Not complaining just have limited time for the task. But thanks for the clarification.

Not a lot of fuss, just pop the card in and go.

Picked up a CK1-B16 yesterday sn 4437087. Plugged it in and it works. By the serial number, that's a really early CK-1. Most of them begin with a '5' or '6'; the leading digit tends to signify the year, so there is a good chance yours was made in 1934 as one of the first batches to reach showroom floors for the 1935 model year. The images on this site are weird and problematic (and cause space issues that is on my list to figure out once I start getting some free time in July) If you could post to flickr, then use the share button it give you some "bbcode" that can be cut 'n pasted to link here. That's what I do, as it "just works" and avoids the forum-storage-space-filling-up problem.

Congrats on getting a CK, though. I have two and love mine. Pretty soon, I'll get one more and retire my Samsung french door fridge (which is crap).

I need to deliver a puppy to both NC and PA, so I'll probably make a trip to both OH and MI on my return. Shoot me a PM, as I'm interested in seeing what fridges you might part with.
