There seems to be a problem posting pics right now--
There are often dates printed on the relay or the thermostat, I suppose for warranty purposes. You might look there. But be warned that moving old wiring may make replacing crumbling insulation necessary. Depends on how important it is to you to find out.

Post your model # and I will try to look it up. I have been using third party hosting here for my photos. Problem with that is they could make them go away some day. Flikr is what I am currently using. I won't pay Photobucket's ransom.

Any luck finding the model number? It should be on the lower right front of the cabinet and on a tag attached to the condenser. My friend has a 1954 Coldspot. His model number is 106.G9BD1. I say it's a '54 model because of the date stamped on the inside of the relay. I found it there when I replaced the power cord for him. Hopefully it will help you with a date for yours!
