I noticed in the owner's manual for my Frigidaire it talks about re-waxing the ice cube trays as needed. Is there still a product out there that can be used for this? I am also wondering if polishing the inside of the trays with waxed paper would have the same result? I remember as a kid my Father telling me to slide down the metal sliding board at the school playground sitting on a piece of waxed paper. It waxed the sliding board and you could really zoom down the slide! I wonder if using the waxed paper on the ice trays would have the same waxing effect? Any thoughts?

Strange, I've never heard of that. I wouldn't want wax in my cubes but what do I know? The Frigidaire trays seem to work great though.

The trays do work well. But one of the 3 is a little more difficult to "pop". I often wondered how those old trays prevented the ice from sticking. When I read about the wax in the manual I was like "oh, so that's how they did it". I think I'll try the waxed paper on the one tray and report back.

I remember when I was a kid we would pull them out of the freezer and run them under cold water and then pop them out of the ice cube tray .

LoL don't worry you'll get there someday ! That train left the station. I knew exactly what you were talking about because I too lived in the dark ages. Having to fill and remove ice from trays. SO archaic! How did we survive with CRT TVs and no internet?

How did we survive with CRT TVs and no internet? No modern televisions in use in my house. Not only are they all CRT, but most contain vacuum tubes.
