Is there a section dedicated to Flattop?
I bought a GE flattop yesterday. It's crudely repainted and can't find numbers. I found only a couple similar things on the net and those posts claimed it was a 1937 JB4-39-A
Can anyone confirm that for me?

See the section above FEA, that's where the flattops are.

That's a nice looking Flat Top. It very well could be from 1937 but I'm not sure.

The last two numbers in the model number are the year it was made. Looks like 39 to me. They are in the CF section, just above the FEA as Travis said.

That looks similar to a 1937 monitor top. The model number would be on a paper sticker on the back. I'm sure it works fine. About the only problems with these are the relays.

It works perfectly. The sticker on the back is painted over.

The service manual is posted as one of the top threads in that category. Part 2 of the manual shows many pictures of the units. On page 42, there is a list of units and what cabinet it would use. By looking at your evaporator and control, you'll be able to determine what unit you have and narrow down the cabinet.

This looks to be the same as my cj 1938. The guys helped me get it running again. Runs perfectly now. Keeps constant temp, cycles as new. Shall be working on the cabinet soon. This is the thread on the flattop section. monitortop.freeforums.net/thread/369/bth-ge-cj-flat-top?page=3Like to see an image of the interior.
