I thought the same thing. So far, I really like the high temp silicone one. It's very soft and seems to conform well to the porcelain cabinet joints. I finally got everything put together today and installed the gasket from McMaster and it works great. I found that the best way to get the corners to fit properly is to stick down the two longer vertical pieces, then stick down the top piece allowing it to overlap in the corner. Then take a brand new sharp razor blade and with one end pointing toward the corner of the door, press straight down on it. It chops both gaskets clean and they fit together perfectly. I used a dab of 3M Super Weatherstripping Black Adhesive from an auto parts place to glue the corners with only a dab on a toothpick. Did you go with the high temp silicone gasket that I used? My only dislike is you need to wipe it down with a wet paper towel from time to time as dust likes to stick to it.

Anyone have any pics of the mcmaster installed on their flattop? I have an old foam piece glued on mine 1941 flattop (came that way at purchase) that will take some work to get off, but I think I need to as I get some condensation along a spot on the top of the fridge. I was looking at the antique appliances as well but if I can save 75 bucks I am happy to. Anyone had a problem with Mcmaster? Thanks

I'm very satisfied with the McMaster-Carr #93085k14 on my CK-1. It's D shaped that is 5/8" From adhesive base to top of D.

Hello Guys
Several Months back, I sent an Original GE gasket from our 4 Door unit, overseas to have an Exact Prototype made for review.
I am awaiting receipt of Sample any day now.
Prototype gasket shall have the Barbed nipples being 3 1/4" on Center which simply Push into the Factory spaced door holes.
It would be very costly to fabricate Exact Gaskets for each Monitor Top Unit Style Door, having Molded 45 Degree corners.
Gaskets would come in (4) predetermined length's , be trimmed to 45,s on site, with a dab of sealant at each corner .
Unless, a popular size unit, called for such fabrication demand.
The gasket submitted was Gray.
I,m sure Black can also be supplied.
See attached photos of Holes & Gaskets on our door.
From measuring other units, it appears that the Center To Center door holes, are 3 1/4" ,, Except at the corners .
I would appreciate any feedback on supplying such gaskets, for these units.
Shall post photos, as soon as they arrive.
Many Thanks Erik

Looks just like factory...... thanks for the pic. When you installed the gasket did you use contact cement to adhere it as was suggested earlier in the thread? Also the mcmaster gasket comes with a D shaped piece and a lip did you place the lip to the interior? Did you use the razor blade technique on the corners? Just want to make sure I do it correctly the first time with no leaks. Thanks for the help.

Just bringing up an old but vital topic .. it certainly appears the McMaster seals are excellent choices ... what has everyone found to stand up to to the test of time so far for the door gasket and the top gasket between the plate and compressor plate?
