I've seen this mentioned a few times and since I'm finally doing it I though it would be a good idea to start a thread. The cord shown in pictures is from my CA-2-B16 machine. As far as I know, this is original but there is always a chance something was changed. The wire appears to be 16 awg 2 conductor. I determined this using calipers and comparing to an awg size chart as well as to a modern piece of stranded 16 awg wire. The outside diameter of the cord is around 8mm. This is important as it must fit into the connectors. I'm having a lot of trouble finding 2 conductor 16 awg round wire. Any suggestions are welcome

I've seen it on ebay and was about to order some until a local source appeared just in time. I used black neoprene sheathed cable with inner conductors of 1.5mm which looks identical to the original, except the conductor colours are blue and brown instead of black and white.

McMaster-Carr lists 2 conductor (white/black) 16 ga cord very close to 8mm diameter. ............Bob

Original conductor size is closer to 1.4 - 1.45mm.
1.5mm sounds like almost 14 awg. Maybe 15 awg? Did it work with the original sockets?
