I HAVE BEEN COLLECTING SALES FOLDERS OF LATE FOR THESE AND I AM GETTING CLOSE TO STICKING MY NECK OUT AND SAYING THE MACHINES WITH THE TYPE "c" CONTROL (TEMPERATURE ADJUSTABLE) ARE ALL 1929 MODELS.I HAVE YET TO SEE ANYTHING WITH A 1928 DATE THAT SHOWS THE THUMBWHEEL. I'M HOPING SOMEONE WILL SHUT ME UP AND PROVE ME WRONG!

Garrett, it very well could be. I would also expect that many non-adjustable controls were swapped out later. What I want to know is when they stopped referring to DR units as ICING UNITS.
I think a lot of these smaller parts got swapped out over the years.

That is definitely very, very cool.
And I love seeing the various permutations that the basic design was rendered in. I wonder if they were all "Genuine G.E." or if different aftermarketers bought the "Icing Unit" and built cabinets for limited applications.
And yeah, it's going to have to wait quite a while if they're waiting for me to mortgage the farm to buy it. And get a second mortgage to pay for shipping--
