Okay, this is a long shot I know, as they weren't produced in the numbers that most monitor tops were. But you can't succeed if you don't try, right?
I'm looking for a monster compressor. Been looking for a few years with no luck, probably haven't dedicate the time and attention to it I should. This compressor is for a large commercial store unit, CS-451 5 door (4 door in my case). The compressor was long removed when I got the box, but the base plate and tag are still in place. The info is as follows:
Compressor
TYPE: D_50_B26
NO.: 1012825
Refrigerant
Content: 20 lb. Sulfur Dioxide
HP: 1/2
V: 220
CYC: 60
AMP: 2_6
USE CONTROL
CATALOG: 3880877
The base plate measures 34 1/4" across by 21 3/4" deep and weighs well over 100 lbs without the compressor. The diameter of the compressor pedestal is 12 1/4" according to the shadow left behind. The compressor was considerably wider and quite tall.
Photos attached showing the base plate, old shot of several commercial fridges in a hotel in CA posted to the Flickr group (you can see how they fit 20 lbs of Sulfur Dioxide into it), and the fridge sitting in my garage awaiting further restoration. I have a newer R12 remote compressor that came with it, but it doesn't matter - I can't fit the fridge into this house. Fortunately we're moving in a year or two.
If any of you know of the existence of one of these beasts, the controls, or anything you think may be useful, please don't hesitate to let me know. I'd of course prefer a working or restorable unit, but will consider *any* example sitting around out there. From the old photo it looks to be a bit wider than the base plate is deep, which would put it around 22 inches or more. You could set the compressor for a 3 door refrigerator inside of it with space to spare.
You can contact me here or directly at iamboomer-at-hotmail-dotcom. Fingers crossed that someone has a spare or two kicking around(ha!), but thanks for the read, regardless.
