Interesting about the cast iron insert that was frozen into place in the DR evaporator.

Interesting... If they just would have used a cap tube instead on the CA's it just might have saved it's future. And maybe the future of MF as a refrigerant.

I know a guy that has those blocks that are used on the early DR model and they are still in use.

I have a working DR with the brine evap and the freezing block. I am sure there were many toes damaged by the blocks. It is very heavy and awkward to hold on to!

When I can get back to my DR (it is disassembled waiting for paint) I will post some pics of the freezing block and oven type evap
