What frigde (hope it wasn't dumped, so it still it was, not it was) is this? Found it on an real estate ad, but couldn't contact the person who got the apartament. This is the only pre-communist refrigerator from my country that I've ever seen - frigdes where extremly rare here before 1960.

Very interesting! In which country is this located?

I'm thinking late 1920s or early 1930s Frigidaire.

I thought so, but the look of those things holding the door to the frigde, don't look like beeing of "Frigidaire". Plus "Frigidaire" didn't seem to have a lock to the motor compartment.

Agree it isn't likely a Frigidaire. I think I've seen these hinges before but can't remember at the moment! As for the motor compartment lock, I was looking at that and think it is likely not original to the cabinet. These usually had a screw which was removed to access the mechanical parts; or they had a spring catch which allowed you to "pull" the door open and "push" it closed. I've a feeling the lock was an addition by a previous owner, who found the lower door would not stay closed and could not locate a replacement original latch. I shared your pictures with some additional fridge experts and will report back if an answer comes up. If you are on Facebook you can see the post here. If not, I will share any findings here when they appear. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1223144641055129/posts/7189774041058796/

The forums are much better for storing and organizing info. Facebook is good for quick questions where there are many people to see it. Glad you joined our group there. Sincerely, David

From the picture I see , it’s only half of the fridge. So need more pitchers and also inside would be a great help.
