Hello all, I have a D-2-A16 that has been working forever, until a relay went out in the control box. I have searched high & low for the part but can't find it. I would love to buy a control box from a same model unit or if someone has the information where to get the electrical components, namely a relay, please let me know. You can email me directly at kgant.cas@gmail.com Thank you for reading my post.

I have a few parts controls but would need to know exactly what is wrong. Also, most of the time these can be rebuilt if necessary. EDIT: Thank you for sending the picture. As for that broken wire, that is the overload heater. It serves two purposes. One of those is to heat up if the compressor is overloaded or stalled. This causes a metal strip to flex and release the control to the Off position. This can be reset once the compressor has cooled off. Unfortunately, the second function of this wire is a one-time fuse. This fuse blows if there is a direct short circuit in the system. It is normally blown when the compressor motor winding has failed. Generally when this fusible heater wire blows, it indicates the compressor motor has reached the end of its life. I am so sorry to give you this news. There is always a chance a short in the wiring has caused this, or that it was a power surge. But the most likely cause is that the compressor motor is damaged internally. It can be repaired by rewinding the motor, but it is a very costly repair. If you are nearby I would be happy to check it for you. Sincerely, David
