Hello everyone, I recently got my 1940 Hotpoint up and running. From my research im pretty sure the model is a CE 140D. I'm looking for a new front door emblem, deep freeze cover door, and middle shelf. If anyone has parts or could point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. Last picture is a reference picture.

Last picture is a reference picture. Glad it's up and running for you! Hopefully you'll be able to locate parts. The items such as the evaporator door and emblems are some of the most often lost parts. People often strip them off and hock them on eBay for exorbitant prices for "art" or something like that. You may have luck there; but prepare to pay....

You may be better off repairing the evaporator door that you have. Finding this is going to be difficult. You never know though. This is identical to my kitchen fridge. They are great units once they are up and running.

That evaporator door looks very "fixable" to me.

That evaporator door looks very "fixable" to me. It definitely does look that way, however I didn't know if these were a part people had extras of. Unfortunately I don't have a tig welder, so I'll probably have to contact a shop for that

I agree that the evaporator door is fixable. I'm working on a 1952 Frigidaire AR-60 that had a similar broken door problem. I used JB Weld on it and it works perfectly now. You can't see the repair either unless you look for it. I also repainted the door myself.

For some reason I couldn't get all the pictures in my one post. Sorry about that!

... I didn't know if these were a part people had extras of ... For some reason, evaporator doors are one of the hardest to find items. Seems that over the years they get taken off for whatever reason; and lost to posterity. One of the issues we face is that that part is "decorative" and shiny, so scavengers often taken them from fridges and use them for decorations. You sometimes see them for upwards of $100 on eBay.
