Which model? The DR manual has all the top weights I know. Not sure about the cabinets

I think the DR2 is around 235 and the DR3 is around 295. The evaporator type also varies the weight. The oven evaps are heavy. The cabinet would depend on size and whether is is painted or porcelain.

I think it's a DR1? I'm actually not sure. I'll probably be wrapping up the Servel pretty soon so I need another project.

Looks like two projects too me lol. That Kelvinator looks older than the 46 I have. Could it be 30s?

That's a DR1. I would guess about 225 lbs. Isn't this the one without legs and shelves that you messaged me about last year?

Yeah, that's the one with the missing pieces. The legs were supposed to be under the family cabin. I can't find them and I'm not sure why anybody would take them. I'm thinking of building a nice frame and panel stand for it and putting it on casters. That way I have some nice storage under it. We were using it for apple storage this fall and to thaw out the turkey, etc. It runs fine, but needs some love. I don't know what year the Kelvinator is. It runs fine also, but doesn't seem to have the insulation that the monitor top does. When it runs the outside gets cold whereas the monitor top doesn't. It's complete and has all of the racks and trays. It has a sticker that says it's model AS-R and the serial number is 8784486. I'm not aware of any spot with a date code. Where do I look for one?

Kelvinator Refrigerator Models Size is given in cubic feet, the Energy Rating is in kilowatt-hours per year, and the Adjusted Rating accounts for aging Model AS Year 1952 Size 7.6 Style Single Door Defrost Type Manual Energy Rating 500 Adjusted Rating 650 www.kouba-cavallo.com/refmods.htmThat's not as bad on electricity as I thought it would be.

You're right the shipping seems excessive. You're going to spend something to build a frame and casters, it seems like you might as well have a factory looking DR1. The difficulty is that every parts request results in a machine that was paid for,at some point, being cannibalized. The point is, that no one can rescue fridges, move and store them, and then give away all their parts.

I'd never argue that. Business is business and there isn't a large supply out there. I hope he finds a buyer for them. I grew up with the MT in our family cabin. It never had legs in my mind and always sat on a cabinet. Sometime in the early 80s it was replaced. Heck, there are still areas of the basement that I haven't dug through yet. Maybe my father dug the legs out from under the cabin and they are in a corner of the basement waiting to be found. MTs are still fairly common where I live. This is still, to some extent a GE town. Not as much as before 1985, but it's still a sizable presence. This one is in the same town I live in. albany.craigslist.org/atq/4363346096.html

The tops that were made pre 1930 or maybe 31 are even heavier. They had a massive cast steel compressor base. They can be difficult to move around and the DR3 is just plain off the chart heavy.
