I'm going to be looking at a GE flat top. So far I've only seen pictures. It looks similar to a CF but it has two pairs of vertical parallel lines on the door. They are on either side of the GE logo. The handle is vertical and pulls down to open. It has vertical striations on it and there's a scuff plate on the door at the top of the handle. The borders of the side panels are painted black and I think that's original. Does anyone have any quick information about this unit? I'm looking at it later today and don't have any time to do research on it before then. Thanks so much.

The only thing which sticks out to me is the black painted sides which almost sounds like a Gibson. They had a similar cabinet in this era. If it's a porcelain cabinet, or has impeccable paint; go for it!

Thanks! The owner said it hadn't been plugged in for fifty years, but we plugged it in today and it fired right up and got icy cold. It has all three shelves. The little narrow shelf that's to the right of the freezer compartment is missing. The model number is CF-2-D16. I'm going to pick it up later this week.

I've never seen a GE with the dark colored sides like that one.

That is sharp, I like the black sides. Great find.
