hi everyone, does anyone know what type of refrigerator this is ? when i bought it, it did'ent have a a cooling unit with it. it did have a polished stainless steel evaporator with it and a ge 2 knob control without a bellows . i put a small fea unit on it and it seems to be working fine even in near 100 degree weather. thanks in advance

Is that from one of the belt driven CE? units from the early 30s?

Is that from one of the belt driven CE? units from the early 30s? Yes. I believe Travis has a working complete example of that one. Has a 45° slant mounted compressor and motor with fan and flywheel.

Yep, that was originally a GE belt drive “junior” model. Very neat.

the evaporator has a very interesting suction line on it. like they were trying to hide it. you can see from the picture that it goes in from the back of the evaporator. i took it out just to look inside the evaporator. it has 3 or 4 turns in it, and the end is cut on an angle. when in place it is in the very top of the header.
